Tintagel House

DESIGN | LANDSCAPING | PROJECT MANAGEMENT

GUILLAUME BALTZ was commissioned to design and install new grounds and hardscape for St Peter’s College, Oxford, delivering a refined scheme that respects the college’s historic character while improving accessibility and usability. The project centred on reconfiguring the main quad approach and cloister edge with locally sourced York stone paving and bespoke stone seating that complements existing masonry. Pathways were subtly realigned to create direct, level routes for pedestrian flow and wheelchair access, with discreet tactile indicators and durable anti-slip finishes. Planting beds were reshaped to enhance sightlines to the chapel and dining hall, using a restrained palette of native and Mediterranean-adapted perennials and small trees chosen for seasonal interest and low maintenance.
